"And so the Free Towners spent years pursuing an aggressive program of governmental takeover and delegitimation, their appetite for litigation matched only by their enthusiasm for cutting public services."
Libertarianism is not about govt takeovers. It's about a consistent, internal philosophy. The goal is not about taking over govts and forcing a libertarian utopian on other people but on convincing others of the benefits of the philosophy. Ultimately, a good and realistic result of libertarianism would be pulling centralized powerful govts down and disseminating that power among localities instead, and for those localities to engage in the protection of negative natural rights rather than central planning.
This "gotcha" story about 200 people in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire is not really an experiment in libertarianism. And the criticisms including "unfilled potholes" are pretty damned funny when you consider the present realities of other governments.
But knock yourself out.
