No surprise that Dem politicians ruled that way
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court consists of seven justices each elected to 10-year terms. Supreme court judicial candidates may run on party tickets. After each term, judges must stand for statewide retention elections in order to remain on the court.
Currently, five judges on the court were elected in partisan elections as Democrats, two were elected as a Republicans.
