They went all in on old people and imbeciles who live in the alternative reality that Fox created for them. Those old people will be dead soon, and the imbeciles seem disgruntled when the alternative reality doesn't deviate far enough to their liking and are gravitating towards crazy conspiracy sort of outlets that have no credibility at all to protect their fragile mindsets.
Fox may have really gambled on the wrong market segments, and its hard to foresee any normal people ever giving them a chance as a legitimate news network. If they don't win back the crazy people and the imbeciles they may have boxed themselves into a corner once all the old people die.
