has taken what most people believed to be a band of misfits mired by graduation, opt-outs and injury, to a formidable SEC offensive line. Kentucky has a damn good box, and they just took their will in the second half. When the outside zone is rolling, there ain't a prettier play in football.
1) What a pick up Michael Maietti has been. The dude has played a lot of ball and it shows. He has been a rock in the middle of the line and there have been zero (well, maybe on the failed QB sneak before half but it was hard to tell) snap issues that I can remember.
2) I thought Larry Borom's skill set was not a fit to play tackle. He still gets beat with speed from time-to-time but if he gets engaged, he's mauling your ass.
3) Case Cook committed to Glen Elarbee, (from his hometown), played for Brad Davis, and now is playing for another coach. Props to him for staying the course in this day and age of transfers. He's a solid piece on the interior.
4) Zeke Powell coming on board in July was obviously very important. He didn't have many good offers, but he's been coached up and will be a very solid piece as he gets more experience.
5) Javon Foster and Dylan Spencer both stepped in yesterday without a lot of live reps (for Borom and Delgado) and just went about their work.
Props to Drink, Johnson, and Casey Woods for the work they've done patching the holes and getting this group where it is.
