claiming victory. Let me give you a couple of tweets from lawyers that I follow on Twitter.
From Sol Wisenberg on likely criminal charges on the FISA abuse/spying on Trump, "I have thought from the beginning that the most fertile, but by no means certain, source for finding, charging, and proving criminal acts was in the Page FISA applications."
And From ShipWreckedCrew on the unmaskings. "I'm not sure there is anything "illegal" about unmasking. It is an authorized practice. Was it abused in the Obama Admin? The facts say it was. Not every abuse of gov't authority violates a criminal statute."
And from former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy, "The 'unmasking' issue was never going to result in criminal charges because, as I tried to explain 3 1/2 yrs ago, it was not a crime. For millionth time, not every abuse of power is a criminal violation. Fromm April 2017:"
So, even experienced, intelligent attorneys like these believe that the unmaskings were an abuse of power. So, celebrate that victory, Rask. Obama officials abused their power but were not guilty of committing an actual crime.
