all new home construction to have minimum 6 inch outside studs, perimeter insulation on slab foundations and below grade insulation on basement foundations, double pane minimum on windows and high efficiency furnaces and AC units. That would reduce the cost of heat and air which would reduce the energy demand. But that wouldnt be catchy so instead we have politicians demanding Green instead.
