In addition Oklahoma and Texas appeared another championship games. Teams like Missouri Kansas State Oklahoma State Colorado and Texas Tech had phenomenal years and appeared in New Year’s Day bowl games. I’m just not sure where your memory is on this. The conference began in 1996
