I am pleased to see young people engaged in social and political issues. Democracy is dependent on an engaged citizenry. They need to develop that trait to be prepared to lead our country in the future. I don't have to agree with them on issues to support their right to be engaged. If that is what they learn from their college experience and participation in football it will be well worth it. If you can't root for college kids playing for your local university because they don't agree with you on political issues then you are the one with the problem. I would feel the same if a player wanted to lead the young Republican club and attend or sponsor a Trump rally.
I assume anyone truly interested in the issue which is subject of the protest or rally rather than merely there to disrupt would be welcome. There may be someone who wears a MAGA hat truly interested in racial justice. I hope so. I personally just haven't met one.
