If Doug Smith were drafted into today's NBA...sigh

way ahead of his time. Nowadays thing mobile running 6'10" bigs who can still rebound and block shots are all the rage.

Most depressing thing ever was watching rookie Doug fly down the court open on a one man fast break as the dinosaur aging Dallas Mavs with Derek Harper and Rolando Blackman walked it up court. Go into yawn worthy half court set, run 20 seconds off shot clock, Doug does nothing, gets yanked.

Coach tried to bulk him up but it just made him fat. Without the gazelle speed he had in college, he lost his edge and was a subpar power forward.

Put Doug in today's NBA and let him be what most NBA bigs yearn to be and I bet you he lives up fairly closely to his #6 overall pick status.
