well over half the students. Fourth quarter failures were through the roof and about 1/3 of the students simply opted out even in districts that 'required' fourth quarter work.

Every local district that I have direct knowledge of either did not count fourth quarter work at all, not even putting it in the gradebook, or they told teachers after the fact to not allow fourth quarter work to drop a kids grade.

That is not quality education and if it continues for another semester there are a large number of kids who will never recover.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
