That'll boil out any bacteria or anything. Weird that there's only one mark if it was a bite. I got bit on the leg by a huge blacksnake once when I accidentally stepped on it while climbing through a barbed-wire fence. They aren't poisonous and he ended up getting the worst end of the deal when I bashed his skull in, but with the sweat and everything it stung pretty bad for a while.
