any given year. The rest are fair game.
Unfortunately, when pay-for-play "endorsements" and "autographs" and "meet and greets" are allowed, that number will increase to 100.
What used to be considered "cheating" will become the norm and occur out in the open. There will be bidding wars, and only schools with the richest boosters/donors/fans/alumni and media markets will have any chance in most cases. And by the way, that's not just for high school recruits, but also for 2nd and 3rd year "diamonds in the rough" who decide to transfer for a $250k "endorsement" from a car dealership near Florida State or Texas A&M.
For all but about 20 schools, recruiting AND RETAINING good players will be nearly impossible — orders of magnitude worse than the status quo. You think there's not much parity now?... just wait.
