But what we know is that, with very rare exception, this isn't killing healthy people. People die. And like many of the past pandemics, this one may very well end without a vaccine but just run its course.

What we also know is that govt's took drastic, novel actions that led to unprecedented loss of jobs and economic activity in a short period of months. This is the partial destruction to the division of labor discussed in the article (which is the gasoline ready for the spark).
