Were any of those complaints of racism? Were any of them upheld?

I don’t know the answer, but I’m sure all the libs here do.

Here is the underlying question: what was the thinking that determined the killing was racially motivated?

It certainly is convenient in an election year. Is there any evidence to support that. Not that evidence is necessary, just curious.
