If someone truly believes that it prevents illness, then I would not call it obedience but compliance. Some do not wear it for vanity reasons, which is odd because many occupations require masks. Becoming obsessed with it to the point of getting into fights on the street is senseless and shows an obsession with authority, or perhaps you did not like the person and wanted to fight them.
