all of the costs of all of the energy sources as best we can... including pollution, disposal and so on and then let the free market determine the winners and the losers.
One of his criticisms is also that the government is so heavily involved with rebates, special loans, carbon credits and so on and that is propping up an industry... and enriching the insider billionaires who are profiting from it that really isn't able to stand on its own. Or at least some of the technologies aren't really economically viable.
It's too hard for the scientists, much less the consumers to figure out how much energy is going into the mining, refining, production, delivery and installation process... plus the disassembly and disposal costs over the lifetime of the equipment used to harvest the renewable energy. But if those costs are all included in the pricing and the expected lifetime and disposal costs are accurately given, the consumers can make up their own minds as to which energy sources make the most economic and ecological sense. If the government is distorting things and picking winners and losers... enriching th well connected then it's a sham.
