and you’re lazy, which is why you resort to straw man and other logical fallacies like you’re doing here.
no one has argued that starving anyone is compassionate. the chapter of The Ethics of Liberty is about negative versus positive rights, and clearly states that it is not making the moral argument, which is a different discussion. you keep confusing the idea of supporting a right for supporting a behavior. in regard to starving, the point is that no one has a right to force someone else to feed or provide for another.
and i said children are capable of consent and do so every day. and i gave examples such as going door to door to mow lawns or taking turns in playing games or choosing who to play with at recess. all peaceful human interaction is based on consent.
