Isaac Newton who discovered gravitation and calculus basically fudged numbers to confirm the speed of sound and wasted time trying to turn lead into gold and looking for an equation to predict the return of Christ.
Johannes Kepler who discovered the motion of the planets being elliptical also applied his ideas behind ratios to music which turned out dreadful.
Michael Faraday created the first motor but had not the slightest clue how to do any of the math required to explain what he had done.
My point is that if these great pioneers of science can be fallible, so can some government smoo working for the nih
