call the crisis a hoax. Throughout most of Feb Trump was down playing the seriousness of the virus. He has multiple public statements where he said this was just the flu or there will be zero cases in the USA soon.
His eye on the potential economic impact and threat to his re-election campaign drove him to make light of the virus.
The country lost 4-5 weeks of preparation because of his failed leadership and selfish hope the virus would magically go away
As the panic started to grow within the medical community Trump called the claims of mass deaths a hoax
