Upshot of his comments;
5 recruits who could have immediate impact
- Jaylen Corliss - Big upside, Quick - Good change of direction. Could be moved to DB
- Kris Draine - exceptional upside as Punt Returner
- Montra Edwards - Close to, not equal to Beckner at this stage
- Damon Hazelton - will win 50/50 balls. Will make other WR on the roster better, as he'll take attention away
-Javian Hester - much cudos to staff for retaining him. As good potential as we've seen in some time at this postion
Overarching comments
- cautiously optimistic with new staff's progress thus far. Better than the previous staff. Fewer 'stretches', although, not as many recruits to judge. Said Pinkle had lots of misses, especially in his last 2 classes. Thinks Drink's class is anchored and B level players or better.
- MU aspirations should be to compete with 2nd level schools and not elite (Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Ohio State etc). Think Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, Tex AM, Arkansas etc.
-Robinson fits Drink's program a little better than Bazelek, however, Bazelek is the better pro passer. Thinks Robinson in the lead now.
-Interesting - East St. Louis players are better prepared to make the transition to Power 5 stresses than any other program in the State of MO, and not close. Says their practices are often "take no prisoner" affairs and the kids compete the entire time they are on the field.
- DeSmet and ESL could field an entire class of local recruits at this time. Thinks that Tigers staff is well positioned with both programs. Look for ESL Jr WR and their QB to accelerate up the national boards this year.
- Tiger's strongest at RB, weakest on OL, DL will be better this year, DB's are better now than in some time (new players will also help).
