But the problem with the 30 win team was that there was very little depth which was a recruiting issue. Although I didn't think of much of Haith as a coach, I am not sure the Denmon/English team that Haith coached would have done as well under Mike Anderson. I think his system would have subdued the offensive potency of that team. They were freed from that under Haith and excelled.
It's harsh perhaps to say he left little in the cupboard because it's not Anderson's fault that Pressey left early and Dixon was kicked off the team but I do not believe he had a single recruit lined up for the year after his departure (the Otto Porter recruiting notwithstanding). I don't disagree about his tenure, he was easily the best coach Mizzou had after Norm Stewart retired.
