Prior to a couple weeks ago, 2001 was the last time Mizzou fans felt the power-gust of 'brand new'.
That's nearly 20 years without the rejuvenating sensation of a new head football coach.
That's a long time.
The Mizzou psyche was robbed of 'newness' when Barry was hired - the transition from Pinkel to Odom was very unusual, fan apathy and distaste for Mizzou was widespread and being a former player and coach meant he represented the pre-existing Mizzou.
Plus the visuals of the time were on whack professors yelling absurd things, poop-nazi, and hunger striking - these things added to the low impact on the psyche of the hiring.
Two weeks ago Mizzou fans got what they craved - the jubilation of NEW.
Add the fact he's the 'hot prospect' called up to the majors and you've got a max level psyche thirst quench.
Barry was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
And that only continued to play true from the moment he was hired.
It's really unfortunate twitter's surface level communication limitations have contributed so heavily to societies inability to blend character with information and facts and truth and details and nuances and variables to arrive at 'understanding'.
This intellectual epidemic that prohibits the journey of 'understanding' is exactly how political world gets away with being a soundbite driven industry.
