Maybe he should have chosen Self, but Self would've left Mizzou for T Boone State eventually. Anyway, it's widely held that Billy Wal*Mart pushed for Quin.
(Oh, and Alden hired Pinkel & stood up to TX--took us to SEC)
Quin & Anderson got to the Elite 8. An Elite program would've hired Quin Snyder. That's not even up for debate.
Do you think 2015 would've been as bad with Alden? A powerful AD was needed at the time, and we had the newby who deferred to one of his coaches.
Alden was damn good.
