I think there's more capital to be gained from pursuing the process for another 4 months, than there is to be lost from a "rush to judgement".
I do agree that the Senate will never vote to remove from office, but damning testimony from Bolton or Mulvaney could heavily impact swing states. Getting Rudy on the stand under oath (doubt it ever happens) would be pure gold.
The Senate hearing will be a circus. If the case is handed to the gop in January, they have more time to drag out the circus...Give it to them in May and they'll hold their noses, vote quickly and get back on the campaign trail.
