The thing I don't understand from his enablers perspective

Lets say his enablers are successful and he isn't held accountable again. You do realize he is just going to so something else equally as stupid and corrupt the next week, and the week thereafter right? And those enablers who made it happen will be the same ones being thrown under the bus in the next iteration.
At some fundamental level everyone involved, even those most passionately in his cult, recognizes that he is kind of a stupid man and in way over his head and is easily taken advantage of and is rather corruptible and is only taking actions that benefit himself. So why do you root for him to not be held accountable again? Why do you want him to continue to going on acting like an irrational doofus at the expense of America and its people?
