In his 4th season, Pinkel's team was 5-6 after having won 8 the year before. I sat in the stands for all of those games and I can tell you, they were not all standing room only.
Pinkel's teams didn't dominate until year 7 when they went 12-2 and won the Big XII North only to be slaughtered in the title game.
So yeah, I think Barry ought to get a little slack. He didn't walk into a program like Mullen did.
