and IMMEDIATELY they go 9-3.
The Pumpers here will say:
1. That's Florida State, they have the money.
2. Whittingham would never have come here.
3. Lucky, but usually it doesn't work out that way.
4. Jimbo left great talent, Taggart misused it.
What they'll never say is:
A great coach creates an INSTANT IMPACT and can completely turnaround a program, sometimes in very short order.
The pumpers believe that all coaching changes are catastrophic and lead to a long term rebuild.
OR they at least pretend to believe this while they continue to support Odom who they think is still the guy for the job.
Bottom-line is: it doesn't matter how similar situations at other schools work out great.
We have to live with Odom for five years because he went to two bowls and that's just the way it is and if you don't like they'll spin up a million reasons why it's 'dangerous' to fire Odom.
Meanwhile it is actually possible to fire Odom, find an excellent new coach, win immediately, fill the stands, and move into an era of success.
That IS possible.
Pumpers don't want to go for that - OR - still believe we are going for that under Odom.
That's it.
