The "nobody wanted this job" is a lazy statement in my opinion (not attempting to insult you by any means). I think it's the AD's job to sell the position, program, institution to potential coaches, and then offer to truly PAY them. Money talks in this industry, and MU can, and could have, hired a solid coach if they were willing to dish out some paper.

Remember, Rhoades was the AD at the time, and he was obviously headed out the door; so I'm not sure he really gave it the attention the search needed.
