It took GP longer to compete with the big boys, but the improvement was somewhat steady (2004 not withstanding) from year to year. Odom won games we didn't expect him to quicker, but those were surrounded by inexplicable collapses vs. lifeless opponents.
Onofrio had a knack of not having prepared teams for the should've been, walk overs. The inexplicable losses are what ruined what could've been monumental seasons for Mizzou under Al, and that trend applies to Odom. This is another reason (post-Vandy) that we don't need possible ku & upcoming ksu match-ups in our future should Odom still be here. I'd rather have non-cons with Michigan or USC since there would be a better chance of serious preparation.
