On a separate note, I think the evidence is heavily stacked in favor of the existence of God. Moreover, I think Pascal's Wager makes a lot of sense in this situation.
If there is no God you, pickle & the other atheists may benefit slightly over those who believed that He did exist.
But if there is a God you pickle & the other atheists have lost far more than one could ever accumulate on earth... you have traded an ETERNAL LIFE of happiness, for eternal suffering, while those who believed and acted in accord with those beliefs gain that ETERNAL LIFE of happiness.
Betting everything on something with such a horrific cost benefit ratio, and for which not only is there no evidence, but for which the available evidence points to the opposite conclusion seems to be a rather foolish bet, no?
