I have had the pleasure of working with Turkish officials when I was with the UN and had a lot of in-depth conversations about the Kurds with them.
I'm not saying Turkey is right, but one of the guys lost most of his family to PKK terrorism. He explained it in simplistic terms to imagine the US had a small section and group of people who wanted their own state but not everyone in that area agreed so the separatists just started bombing etc to get secede.
would the US stand for that? well, we didn't. so I guess that answers that.
all i'm saying is A. it's a complicated situation and B. the removal of 2,000 US troops is not going to make a hill of beans difference.
this is a what, 700-year-old problem (at least)? it existed before the US was a ****ing thought and it's not our problem to solve.
