But then with our winner take all system under which we operate today - I don't think we discuss anything anymore. Instead, the party that squeaks out a win at the narrowest of margins rams through what they want. And the next turn the opposing party undoes that effort. For example, there is little Trump has done that most Americans would have voted for - yet he does it. Undoes Obama and the next guy undoes Trump.

We don't talk or compromise as we once did. Reflection on state of politics today vs back in the day, Cokie Roberts cogently stated - "It has changed . . . tragically".
