my position with your examples. Texas did do well for THAT season, but the program wasn't stable enough and took major steps back after Durant left.
UCLA also declined at a faster rate once Ball left. They missed the tournament and Alford was fired within 2 seasons.
A one and done can help you to "A" great season , but the damage it does to the program long-term isn't worth it.
What did Ball, Colin Secton, Durant, Trae Young and their 1 and done year do to the program long-term? Too many concessions are made for that "one" player.
Lon Kruger went from playing team ball and getting good shots to one guy pulling up from anywhere. Avery allowed Sexton(Love plays like him) to dribble his way to shots at the sake of ball movement.
