to our country who does not care for our politics? I'm sure there was a long list of candidates for that visa who love America and would have been thrilled to go in his place.

I don't get this idea that America has some sort of obligation to open our doors to anyone who wants to come. If they want to be here and we feel that they would be an asset to our country the definitely let them come. If they don't like our country then there is a whole world for them to choose from.
