but JFK's entire speech was aspirational....
"we mean to lead it" (coming age of space)
"we intend to be first" (need to set the agenda)
"we choose to go to the moon....because that goal...."
"we do not intend..." (to stay behind in the race)
"I realize that this is in some measure an act of faith and vision..." (referring to the costs - $0.50/wk per person)
"I think we're going to do it...I think we ought to do the job....it will be done in the decade of the sixties."
