In six close losses, MU still held opponents 4.9 points/100 possessions below their typical offensive efficiency. When Smith was healthy that figure is closer to 9.7 points/100 possessions.
Also, look at the average TO%: 27.7. Why does that matter? MU was 305th in transition D.
