I understand your annoyance and frustration with the president. He says and does lots of cringe worthy things on a weekly basis.
No argument.
Two questions, actually:
1. Is there a better president out there, anywhere? Is there a human in this country who is eligible to run, that you would prefer? Frankly, i cannot think of one. The GOPe is rife with losers, liars and lightweights. John Kasich, Jeb Bush...? And the socialist party is, well socialist. Unaffiliated politicians are generally unaffiliated in name only, like lieberman in connecticut and angus "something" in maine.
2. When was the last time we had a president that you really supported? Bush the first, W? Reagan? Who from history was the perfect president. IMO, after GW, all were flawed. Lincoln, coolidge, reagan are the pick of that litter.
I have posted here before that trump has the opportunity, not by virtue of his statesmanship but by virtue of the perilous times in which we live, to be heralded along with washington and lincoln as our greatest presidents. The greatest times of trouble in our history in my opinion, were our founding, the civil war, and right friggin now. The future of the republic hung and hangs in the balance.
This is not the time for a politically correct, PRESIDENTIAL, statesman-like president in the style of the bushes to take all the crap and all the lies from the media and the socialists and attempt only to slow down our slide into socialism. All the while acting like a president is supposed to act.
I argue that the way a president is supposed to act, is being redefined by donald trump.
I was not initially a trump fan either. I don't like his raskolian LOOK AT ME style. I don't like his incessant bragging. I certainly don't like this morality wrt women and marriage.
But i don't think we need a spiritual leader or a marriage counselor. We don't need an "aw shucks fellas, it weren't nothing" kind of guy. We need a CEO willing to stand up to the media and the socialists and the idiots.
That is what trump is doing.
We were told with wild bill in office that his private life WHILE IN OFFICE didn't matter. That he could be (and he did) giving monica a mouthful while on the phone with a congressman discussing troop deployment, and that's ok. Didn't effect his work. We were told that there was NO WAY russia or anyone else could use any of wild bill's antics to bribe or blackmail him. We were told that great men have great sexual appetites. We were told this by the high minded, sanctimonious, hypocritical raskolian liberals.
I would prefer our presidents to be perfect in every way. Until that candidate emerges, i'll take trump every time.
Finally, i offer this opinion, it is trump's LOOK AT ME nature, his bragging and his need for self elevation that puts him in front of the media so often. That allows lm to get his message out, and around the media who are determined to edit, ignore or mock it.
He just left for jamestown virginia and took many questions from the press. He answered honestly, often with a self centered perspective, but much more honestly than the careful, plodding, parsing, and perfunctory responses given by his anti american predecessor.
Bottom line 71, who's better? And are you letting perfection be the enemy of excellence?
And a note to The Idiot and his gang of idiots, please don't hijack this thread with your moronic commentary about how awful lincoln was. Start a new thread for that if you wish.
