using tools and applying those skills to make, fix and improve things are all signs of intelligence. What's remarkable to me is that people think the only sign of intelligence is getting a degree. I can get a degree in anything if I apply myself to learning and regurgitating what the person handing out the degree wants to know. It just means that I have that skill set - no different than a welder knowing how to lay a bead.

What's more amazing to me is that you'll see a video of a damned crow dropping a rock in a jar to make a bug float higher and people are all about how smart the bird is....how it's a sign of intelligence. And then you want to downplay those same traits in other humans?
