The US has long subsidized defense of Europe. The US has long subsidized medical research and development of new drugs sold cheaper in Europe.

Europe has drug testing programs. Why do we need to duplicate their efforts if you feel this is a necessity. Let Europe pay for it and US doctors use their safety testing info.

The same reasoning can be used to end the Department of Education. We don't need it. Europe already has standards bodies for education. Why duplicate their work?
