He just doesn't know anything, and he is pandering to a group that likes inaccurate information and/or is racist. So it leads to him saying things of that nature because he doesn't know any better or as you say doesn't care. But that doesn't mean he actually is those things because he doesn't likely even understand what he is talking about or give it any consideration. People are essentially trying to hyper-analyze what amounts to ramblings from an old man.

If his base was really into globalism and higher taxes, he would make a bunch of dumb and contracting statements about those kind of things.
