It's not always about scoring numbers. Sometimes it's about realizing you're not a scorer. I agreed below with your Puryear/Jeff Warren comparison and indicated why. I've stated many times coming off 2 knee surgeries and effectively 2 years off, last year was the equivalent of Smiths freshman season. He may end up being exactly what you say but just as I saw questionable play from him I saw positive signs, which is normal fo some freshmen. Not to be the kind of player Puryear kept trying to force himself into being but what he really was, which is an effective and solid rotational piece that can aid in winning. Smith may not end up in the 1000 point club but it will be because he will never be asked to carry that kind of responsibility.
