A bunch of other people is public no meter how it is paid
People do not want to be on public transportation if they can help it
Madison Wisconsin back in the 90s had a grand plan and all the support and $$$ until a dude walked on to a bus with a 5 gallon bucket of gasoline and torched everything
Poooooof it was over. Individual control is always desired in the end. Everything else is temporary and has to have significant savings to be wanted.
Airlines will go away if smaller planes were more efficient and had better stability. Jet packs would be preferable
