In addition to InspectorVol's comments, the stars system has it's flaws (hat tip to Mothball), but Butch was simply lazy. He hornswaggled great players to Knox, but had no idea what to do with them when they arrived. If they had stars, he was on them. He could run that mouth, but not coach. You can read the Jonathan Kongbo exit interview and see how disconnected Butch was. I hope he stays at Bama forever. Pinkel went value shopping and coached them up solid. His defenses were always "reload and kill" with names unknown to the non-como world the year before. Nice job Pink.
