terrorism. But to have ruled out terrorism before you know the cause is silly. They would have been much better off the say ‘we feel this was most likely an accident and do not suspect terrorism but until our investigation is complete we cannot make any definitive statements.’
This started like a simple fire that spread through centuries old wood. Terrorist usually go for a big splash. If a terrorist were going to burn the building I suspect it would ha e been with an explosion, not a slow burning fire.
The real question that needs to be answered is why they did not have the tools needed to fight the fire? If you know a building like that is in a location inaccessible to emergency equipment there should have been other methods available to fight the fire. I guarantee the new Notre Dame will have them.
