Missed a month of play in both his junior and senior seasons. Played in the northern Kentucky area which has decent mid level white boy hoops (Covington Catholic was their rival) but you don’t see much D1 talent on a regular basis. All state senior year. Small school offers. Accepted hoops offer to D2 University of Bellarmine Louisville, enrolled briefly but withdrew, never started his clock. Sat out a year, took a few CC classes but didn’t play any competitive organized hoops for over a year. Knew the coach a D2 Juco in Dayton, no athletic scholarships but record of placing players at 4 year schools. Low level hoops - comparable to class 3 or sometimes class 4 high school hoops in Missouri. Watching high lights, he gets his shot off early and high, and shoots quite a bit off a hard one or two dribble. Will that translate to SEC with quicker, bigger, longer athletes? Doubtful. But at 6’4” if he can defend the 2 then he can get some minutes as a spot up catch and shoot guy.
