why they didn't have 3 billion to spend.
Matter of fact, it reminds me of a kid in hs who was not the sharpest tack. Stu was a varsity football player--d-line I think--and was on the track team as a shot and discuss thrower. If you think of Ogre on Revenge of the Nerds, it is a pretty accurate depiction of Stu.
So one of the benefits of being a varsity letterman was access to the varsity locker room which had a Coke vending machine. Stu put in his quarter and pressed the button and nothing came out. He finally walked away.
I go up to the machine, put in my money, press the button, and an ice cold Coke rolls out. Another letterman says "Hey Stu! He got your Coke!" Stu turns back into the locker room "give me my Coke!"
I try to explain to Stu that he put in his money and the machine ate it. I put in my money and out rolled a Coke. "You got my Coke!"
I could see my message wasn't sinking in and just handed Stu the can of Coke. "Here, enjoy!" And put another quarter in and got my Coke.
What's funny is Stu and I have gotten to be good friends over the years. He's a giant teddy bear.
