I got to deduct. Ore than standard which was good, but I lost out on about $6,000 due to SALT limit. Ended up owning a bunch...probably due to nice bonus this year. Normally I am fine with owing more....this year a bit tougher as I am moving and buying new home, which will get done before I sell current home...and then be unemployed for two months. Will work out...just a tougher cash position for a couple of months at the same time the tax bill is due.
With all the limits on deductions, I am not even sure the rich get that big of a break other than tax rate.
Quite frankly less deductions I think are better way to go.....but obviously I hit the right spot where the federal withdrawal tables were wrong
