exposed their off the books ticket revenue scheme during their last instance of exposed lack of institutional control that also didn't prompt an NCAA investigation or any NCAA penalties.
2010 - 3 star recruit Royce Woolridge was the class's only commitment until a late commitment from Josh Selby. Woolridge played a total of 44 minutes and scored 9 points in his ku career. Selby was really an ineligible player for a normal program, and served a 9 game NCAA suspension, then left after a season due to not attending classes and became a 2nd round NBA pick after a hugely disappointing college career.
2011 - 3 star Nadir Thorpe, 3 star Jamari Traylor headlined a class that also included 3 star Merv Lindsay (scored a total of 11 points in his ku career) and 3 star and academically ineligible Braeden Anderson (who I don't believe ever played for ku). The class had a late supplement of the completely ineligible Ben Mclemore, who after sitting out a season while collecting considerable improper benefits became eligible for a single season as a sophomore.
2012 - Thankfully for ku this class was boosted by in-state Perry Ellis because the other members were Andrew White III, Rio Adams, Landen Lucas, Zach Peters, and Milton Doyle. I've never heard of a single one of those others guys so I assume they didn't pan out, but I think ku had completely fallen off my radar by that point.
Not exactly the types of classes Self/ku typically assembles, weirdly coinciding with an FBI investigation and the loss of a previously untracked revenue stream. That is the kind of classes ku would be regulated to on a semi-level playing field. Good times ahead in Lawrence.
