I've watched Puryear, Santos and Mitchell Smith all get beat over and over off the dribble by other teams 4's. It happened several times yesterday. Not one of them can keep anyone in front of them. Typically it wasn't their guy that scored but Tilmon would have to rotate over and contest his shot and his guy would get the rebound and stick back.
The solution is to go small, MU isn't blessed with a viable option at the 4 spot with size. If you go small you can sometimes force the other team to go small too...or you will create a mismatch on the offensive end. Just go 4 out or run the high low with Pickett or Watson. Mitchell Smith looked totally lost trying to run the high in the high/low vs the zone. You could even go with Mark Smith and create some pick and pop shots for Smith who i think needs to shoot more when he gets back.
