opt FOR govt-paid insurance, you are charged with an additional tax burden of about 5%.

If you opt OUT, you dont pay the tax but are required to have your own.

To me, this is the best of both worlds. But, as a matter of fact, the US pays double per person for HC premiums than any other first-world country.
